Camp Lester Okinawa

Camp Lester Okinawa - US Naval Hospital Okinawa is Camp Lester's largest tenant. He is responsible for most of the troops and their families deployed in the Pacific. It is the most important hospital of the United States Navy. However, not the only tenant.

There are many units and commands that decide to base their headquarters at Camp East. Therefore the base is the center of many command and control units. Camp Lester is one of the United States military installations in Japan.

It's been called that for about thirty years, so it's still called that by local natives or ex-servicemen. The new name was given in memory of one of the heroes of the battle of Okinawa, Fred Faulkner Lester.

The facility is more popular than the local hospital. The local hospital is now the largest hospital in the US Navy. It is a major medical center not only for military units deployed in the Pacific, but also for their families and civilian or contract personnel.

There are many residential facilities, municipal offices, schools, traditional restaurants, snacks, community clubs, social centers, skate parks, soccer fields, and basketball courts. As the authorities plan to build a large complex on the site, some of the facilities have been moved to a nearby military facility.

This action once again proves how closely related military facilities are in Japan. The new complex at Camp Lester should focus mainly on more residential buildings. On April 27, 2012, in a joint statement of the SCC, the US and Japanese governments stated that the six facilities and sites specified in the reform plan of the full or partial return have not changed, and the facilities mentioned above.

and the area used by US forces remains unchanged to confirm that the territory is entitled. According to the consolidation plan, refunds will be made in 3 categories: 1) Areas can be refunded immediately after completing the necessary procedures;

2) Sites returned after providing replacement facilities in Okinawa; and, 3) Areas to which the US Marine Corps may return after the evacuation of Okinawa to locations outside of Japan. Camp Lester and part of Army POL Depot Kuwae were placed in the second category.

Camp Lester (Kan Kuwae) is located on a flat beach overlooking the East China Sea in Chatan, Okinawa, Japan. In addition to the important military hospital, there were schools, soccer fields, and various neighborhoods. The facility also houses City Offices under Article 4(a) of the Situation of Forces Agreement (SOFA), which authorizes joint use of the site.

Marine Corps Base Lester was adjacent to the Army's Petroleum, Oil and Lubricant (POL) depot component at Kuwaeh, which was also located on the site. Some of the on-site facilities are built under a SOFA agreement, while another agreement represents shared use.

This means that both America and Japan have access to these facilities. In addition, the United States should gradually withdraw from the region and hand it over to the Japanese government in time to reduce military involvement when they are no longer needed.

In fact, military operations in Japan are now virtually null and void. Some bases are slowly turning civilian, while others are on standby. After the occupation of Okinawa, Camp Lester was taken over by the United States of America.

It was a long and hard battle. Then dozens of heroic deeds were seen and many meritorious medals were awarded. Unfortunately, most of the recipients received these awards posthumously. There are several facilities made in the area to make the island safe.
